Renewal of Certificate of Identification and Re-entry Permit

Travel Advisory

Permanent Residents of Brunei Darussalam who reside overseas and intend to return to Brunei Darussalam can apply for the renewal of their Certificate of Identification and Re-Entry Permit through the High Commission.

The High Commission advises for applications to be forwarded within three (3) months of the expiry date.

An application form for renewal should be returned complete with the following documents:

  • Application Forms for passport renewal Click here.

  • Explanatory letter to apply and reason staying in the United Kingdom (preferably in Bahasa Melayu), addressed to the “Pengarah Imigresen dan Pendaftaran Kebangsaan, Negara Brunei Darussalam melalui Bahagian Konsular, di Suruhanjaya Tinggi Negara Brunei Darussalam di United Kingdom”
  • Registration Department, Brunei Darussalam.
  • Two (2) copies of Certificate of Identity
  • Two (2) copies of current passport
  • Two (2) copies of Birth Certificate (both sides)
  • Two (2) copies of Brunei Identity Card (both sides)
  • Two (2) copies of Brunei Residence Permit/Re-Entry Permit (if applicable)
  • Two (2) copies of Police Report (if C.I. is lost or stolen)
  • Two (2) copies offer/admission letter from present school/college/university (if studying) and scholarship letter (if any) or current letter from employer (if working)
  • Two (2) copies of a Marriage Certificate (if married)
  • Four (4) recent blue background passport-sized photos, bearing the name of applicant behind each photo
  • Stamped and Self-Address envelope Recorded/Special Delivery (if application submit by post)

Completed applications are advised to be presented to the High Commission in person. Applications can also be submitted by post (Recorded/Special Delivery mail) however, applicants are solely responsible for the safety of their documents that are sent by post.

Note 1: : It is procedure for the High Commission to forward the applications above to the Immigration Department in Brunei Darussalam for further consideration.
