Bruneian nationals who need to renew or have lost their passports are advised to notify the High Commission as soon as possible.

For Bruneian nationals who lost their passport and intend to return to Brunei Darussalam soon and with certain cases, another alternative is to apply for an Emergency Certificate (Sijil Darurat).

Requirement for passport application:

  • Completed Application form ( Click here to get application form )
  • Explanatory letter detailing reasons for renewing or replacement of passport, addressed to the Director of Immigration and National Registration Department, Brunei Darussalam. Applicants should also include contact details in full.
  • Two (2) copies of Police Report (only for lost passports)
  • Two (2) copies of Brunei Passport (if applicable)
  • Four (4) passport-sized photos (with blue background)
  • Two (2) copies of Birth Certificate (both sides)
  • Two (2) copies of Brunei Identification Card (both sides)
  • Two (2) copies of Brunei Residence Permit (if applicable)
  • Two (2) copies of UK Visa / Entry clearance / Biometric Residence Permit Card
  • Two (2) copies offer/admission letter from present school/college/university (if studying) and scholarship letter (if any) or current letter from employer (if working)
  • Stamped and Self-Address envelope Recorded/Special Delivery (if application submit by post)

Completed applications are advised to be presented to the High Commission in person. Applications can also be submitted by post (Recorded/Special Delivery mail) however, applicants are solely responsible for the safety of their passports that are sent by post.

Note 1: It is procedure for the High Commission to forward the applications above to the Immigration Department in Brunei Darussalam for further consideration.
